Taggart Cycles Purple Rando 55cm Complete Bike
$4,000.00
Taggart Cycles is a brand of steel rando bikes handmade in Portland by one of our own (former) mechanics named Alex, who is also the founder of the Lost Horizons weekly ride group. We're big fans of what he's doing, so when he asked if we wanted to display one of his creations, we said OF COURSE! This randonneur frame can handle almost any challenge that might arise, all while keeping you comfortable and happy. At first glance, what stands out about this frame is the craftsmanship. While most frames today are TIG welded, this frame is lugged and fillet brazed. It has no bearing on the ride quality, but it sure looks classic. Despite its appearance, this bike is anything but stuck in the past. It has all the features you need for adventures on and off road. More pics and complete specs coming soon. - TRP Spyre calipers with 180mm rotor in front (ideal for steep offroad descents) - Sugino OX601 super compact crankset - Dynamo lighting with internal wiring. Shutter Precision PD-8 hub, B&M IQ-X, and Schmidt fender mounted tail light - Low trail geometry optimized for front load - Front rack and decaleur with integrated bag retention bungee. Ostrich F-104 handlebar bag - Honjo aluminum fenders. Mounts on the frame are designed to allow for the use of wide fenders without the need for any dimpling. This means they’ll last a long time, and be easy to replace when the time comes - 26” x 2.3” tires are wide but with a diameter similar to that of a standard road wheel. That means you get cushion from the tire while retaining the handling characteristics of a road bike. Chainstays are bent rather than dimpled for superior strength - “Standard” diameter frame tubing. An odd designation since manufacturers generally use “oversized” tubing these days. Standard diameter tubes flex more, yielding a more comfortable ride - The best downtube shifters ever: Simplex retro-friction. Wide-range 8-speed cassette - Seatstay pump peg with Lezyne Road Drive For sale either as a complete, or just frame/fork/fenders/racks/lights Designed and built in Portland. Materials: Columbus Spirit and SL tubing .8/.6/.8 On display now at Joe Bike. Come give it a test ride, and check out all they other great bikes they have! Geometry: BB Drop: 65 ST Angle: 74º ST Length (c-c): 550 TT Length: 550 HT Angle: 73º CS Length: 440 Fork Offset: 68 26” x 2.3” QR To get in touch directly with Taggart Cycles: https://www.taggartcycles.com/order/

Surly Disc Trucker
$1,449.00 - $1,550.00
Surly's Long Haul Trucker enjoys a reputation as one of the best riding and most value-packed touring bikes out there. It's been around long enough to be tested in the real world, in all kinds of places, with all kinds of loads on all kinds of roads. Sometimes, however, a combination of load, climate and terrain demands a bit more braking performance than a standard rim-brake LHT can provide. That's where the Disc Trucker comes in. Disc Trucker is a Long Haul Trucker specifically designed for the unique forces discs impose. Surly made sure it can run discs, racks, and fenders with no jury rigging, a somewhat unique feature they've just now decided to call Simulpatibility. Most of the components on the complete bike are the same as the standard LHT; parts chosen for their balance of technical capability, durability, and value. The drivetrain uses the sort of wide gearing you will need for loaded and unloaded travel, cable operated disc brakes for their proven reliability and ease of service, and hubs that are durable and easy to maintain. You'll need to outfit it with the extras you want, like fenders and racks. Surly doesn't include that stuff because everybody's needs are different. From the casual commuter to the person who rides around the world more than once, the Disc Trucker is more than capable. It's a tool designed from the ground up to take you and a bunch of stuff just about anywhere you'd like to go. It is a tool to help you get lost and find yourself.

Marin Fairfax SC6 DLX frameset
$259.00
These are new framesets (not complete bikes) that had been assembled into complete bikes at the factory. Alloy frame, carbon fork. Compatible with a chain or belt, and with conventional drivetrains, internally geared hubs, or single speed. (Note that if you use a belt, your gearing options are limited to either single speed or an internally geared hub.) The bottom bracket is eccentric, but belt tension is independent of that, so you don't need to mess with the bb when you change a tube or tire or when you reinstall the rear wheel for whatever reason. Want to build your frame up with a conventional drivetrain? Order the rear derailleur hanger along with the frame (see Related Items). *Note that there is no place to mount a front derailleur.* Headset and seatpost collar included. Note: some of these framesets are from the "2016" model year and others are "2016". The only difference is a subtle change in graphics, with the 2017/2018 having a bit more white striping. The photo here of the complete bike is of a 2016. Please let us know your preference in the notes field at checkout. We'll do our best to honor your request.

Marin Presidio 4
$2,099.00
Finally in stock! Presidio 4 is the successor to the Fairfax SC6 and among the very best-spec'd, best-conceived, best-equipped commuter bikes on the market. It features Gates Carbon Drive (belt drive), an Alfine 11 internally geared hub, Alfine thru-axle dynamo hub, Supernova lights, Tubus Racktime rack, color-matched metal fenders, and a kickstand. Compare it to our Daily Grinder commute version of the Soma Wolverine, and you'll find mostly identical specs as well as a few differences: -Presidio has an aluminum frame and carbon fork, whereas the Wolverine Daily Grinder has a Tange Prestige cromoly frame and either a cromoly or carbon fork. -Presidio has Continental Sport Contact II 700 x 32 tires, while the Wolverine Daily Grinder has wider (700 x 38) Panaracer Pasela gumwall tires. --Presidio comes with higher gearing than Wolverine: 50/22 vs 46/22, although we give our customers the option of 46/22 with Presidio for a small upcharge ($65). How to know which ratio is for you? If you don't have steep hills to climb and/or a lot of stuff to haul around, and/or if you're a strong rider who likes to go fast, 50/22 should do well for you. If you have climbs to do like those in the West Hills of Portland, or if you're in Seattle, San Francisco, or other hilly locales, 46/22 is better. If you're not sure which one you'll like better, don't hesitate to ask us for guidance.

Surly Big Dummy
$2,149.00 - $2,150.00
Big Dummy is a long-tail cargo bike, which means that not only can you haul a serious amount of cargo, different accessories can be added to your Big Dummy frame and deck depending on what you want to carry. Being a dedicated single-piece frame, instead of an add-on to an existing bike, it's stiffer and resistant to torsional flex, which provides a better ride and longer lasting frame than long-tail add-ons. Like all Surly's frames, it's made of their size specific, 4130 CroMoly steel – a tube set engineered for cargo that sports lots of little touches that you've come to love in a Surly, like clearance for big tires and the use of common component sizes. Figure on being able to carry about 200 pounds (90kg) of cargo. The load weight, and how it's loaded, will affect the handling somewhat. Also, plan on using gears, especially as cargo weight increases. This may seem obvious, but as you get comfy with it, you will use your full range of gears as never before. The parts kit is good quality, and suitable to loaded as well as unloaded riding. It's got a 3x10 drivetrain, Avid BB7 disc brakes, quality Shimano Deore hubs, and 26x2.3" Kenda Kiniption tires. They've outfitted it with Surly-designed bags, deck, rails and Dummy Rail Collars; everything you need for the majority of stuff you might carry, like groceries, shovels, bags of charcoal or mulch, guitars, lamps, mannequins, whatever. Bags, deck, rails, and rail collars are all designed to improve on previous offerings and work together to make sure your stuff is transported with safety and stability. It's an unbending interface, which when you're carrying lots of cargo, is a good thing to have. Get creative, and get hauling. If you intend to carry a passenger on your Big Dummy, Surly requires use of their Dummy Rail Collars. These provide a secondary retention system for the rack, as well as stiffen the rack system. These are included with current Big Dummy bikes and frames, as well as available for older Big Dummy bikes and frames (compatible with all generations of Big Dummy bikes/frames). In addition, a stoker handlebar set up, found on tandem bicycles, is recommended as well. Make sure to check with seat post manufacturer for stoker handlebar compatibility. If you are planning to carry a child on your Big Dummy, Surly recommends the use of a child seat. They've tested the Maxxi Yepp seat. Yepp makes an adaptor that allows their seat to mount onto Surly's deck. It works well with the Big Dummy. At this time other child seats are not recommended and will void your warranty. Surly is testing other options. For the most up to date compatibility/options, check http://www.surlybikes.com/safety Note: keep in mind Big Dummy weight limits when carrying a passenger.

Surly Big Easy
$4,999.00
Riding with cargo is core to Surly's mission on this earth, whether you’re running a front rack and bag setup or a full-blown cargo bike and trailer. There are times, however, when even the strongest riders are limited in what they can haul, so Surly created Big Easy, their long-tail electric cargo bike. Consider it the 18-wheeler of the cargo bike world, minus the diesel fumes. When it comes to geometry, Big Easy rides and feels like a normal-length bike. It has increased stand-over height clearance and they threw in a dropper post to promote bike sharing across different-sized riders. So, whether you want to wave goodbye to the old family gas hog, upgrade your bike-supported business’s two-wheeled fleet, or simply haul more bowling balls during your daily commute, Big Easy makes doing all that, well, easy. - Full component set perfectly suited for electric cargo bikes, including four-piston Tektro brakes - Equipped with Bosch Performance CX, their most powerful drive unit - Capable of running dual batteries for extended range, if you’re into that. (All mounting hardware and wiring included.) - Damping headset provides smooth and stable handling characteristics under heavy loads - Condensed bike size range and dropper post routing to promote bike sharing and to accommodate more riders per frame size - Includes Bosch Standard 4A charger, wiring harness, and brackets for additional battery
Surly Big Fat Dummy
$3,025.00
The Big Fat Dummy is a long tail cargo bike that took a few too many doses of growth hormones. At first glance, you might say that Surly just put bigger tires on a Big Dummy. But if you said that, you'd actually be very wrong so just… don't. Think of Big Fat Dummy as more of a second or third cousin to Big Dummy rather than a brother. They share some of the same DNA and look sort of similar, but they're two very different bikes and really only interact when they both reach for the potato salad spoon at that family reunion that no one really wants to be at anyway. Now that that's out of the way, let's get down to the nitty gritty of what makes this hulking beast of a bike tick. Surly's goal with designing a cargo bike around fat tires was to create the most stable, stiff, and traction-laden ride possible while hauling a ton of stuff. Big Fat Dummy has a longer toptube and slacker headtube than its more svelt cousin giving it a nice, predictable, and stable ride. They also used thinner, lighter tubing to construct its cargo area so while it's an overall burlier bike, there's not much difference in weight. Big Fat Dummy accepts either 10mm or 12mm axles in the rear with a spacing of 190/197mm. That big ol' spacing equates to one thing: tire clearance for days. Big Fat Dummy maxes out at a massive 26 x 5.25" tire.* While that large of a tire provides the most traction and stability a bike can possibly offer, it's also a lot of rubber to push and might not be for everybody. Luckily, Big Fat Dummy is also a blast to ride with 3" tires too. It uses the same 100mm suspension-corrected fork as the Wednesday, meaning if you want to add a little squishy squishy to your ride, you can throw a Bluto on and let ‘er rip. If you intend to carry a passenger on your Big Fat Dummy, Surly requires use of their Dummy Rail Collars. These provide a secondary retention system for the rack, as well as stiffen the rack system. In addition, a stoker handlebar set up, found on tandem bicycles, is recommended as well. Make sure to check with seat post manufacturer for stoker handlebar compatibility. All Big Fat Dummy framesets and bikes ship with a Dummy deck, rails, bags, and the aforementioned Dummy Rail Collars so you can immediately start hauling cargo — human or otherwise. Big Fat Dummy is ready and willing to carry all sorts of crap — literally. It's already in use on an organic farm in Ecuador so it's likely that it's hauled some form of manure by now. *Using a 26 x 5.25" tire will cause some drivetrain limitations.
Surly Big Fat Dummy Frameset

That big ‘ol spacing equates to one thing: tire clearance for days. It uses the same 100mm suspension-corrected fork as the Wednesday, meaning if you want to add a little squishy-squishy to your ride, you can throw a Bluto on and let ‘er rip.
