2016 Kona Jake

Get out and ride! Kona's Jake is your ticket to conquering the world by bike. The butted 7005-aluminum is light, fast, and offers a snappy ride over all kinds of terra firma. Kona's legendary Project Two aluminum fork compliments the frame, and burly Alex wheels with Clement tires are ready for everything from your daily commute to next weekend's 'cross course slop. A 10-speed Shimano Tiagra drivetrain powers you down the road, and Hayes mechanical disc brakes put impressive stopping power right under your hands.

I Live up in Big White and this is a great bike for the spring road mess. Rode to Rock Creek and it was comfortable and faultless. Just wish to upgrade the Tyres now. Great bike and great service from Matt. Kelowna Cycles is a great bike store with a great choice to.

Just picked the Jake up a few weeks ago. I already put over 100 miles on it! If you are looking for a reasonably priced bike that has the amenities and feel of a high end bike, look no further than the Kona Jake. It is built like a tank!

              Comments:

I use Jake to commute to work 2x/week @ 27 miles round trip. Some challenging long hills both ways and some very bad pavement. It handles all of this and is quite comfortable. Do some paths in our Cuyahoga Nat'l Park where it also works fine. I wouldn't put it up against the heavier hybrids and trail bikes we've got but, then again, I wouldn't ride those to work. Planning to do a 100+ mile ride this Fall and have no doubt that the Jake will easily handle it.

                Comments:

I got this bike specifically for winter commuting when my normal road bike was unable to function on the ice and snow. I rode the Jake all winter long through all weather conditions and it was the most comfortable and sure footed bike that I have ever ridden. It was so good that I continued riding it well after winter ended and the weather was was gone for the summer.

I just bought this bike 2 weeks ago. I have the 2008 Jake, which has tiagra shifters, a great feature. Great on road handling; not quite as fast as a pure road bike, but pretty close. Good components, great handling, good entry level price. Not to mention great entry level cyclocross bike.
