Tom Ritchey rides about 10,000 miles per year, and he loves those long boundless rides where the surface changes from gravel to tarmac and everything in between. Combine that with his more than 40 years of designing and building bicycles, and it’s no wonder the Outback has become an icon in the gritty world of gravel and adventure bikes. Tom also loves to travel. Inspired by an inherent passion for experiencing different cultures and a ceaseless desire to explore the world by bike, Tom designed the new Outback Steel Break-Away® for those of us that appreciate the versatility of the Outback and possess the wanderlust to travel with it to far-off destinations – this bike is for everyone who has demanded a steel Outback Break-Away over the past few years. The Outback Steel Break-Away easily and quickly disassembles to fit into its own included sturdy travel case, which helps you avoid airline extra baggage fees. Once you arrive at your destination, the bike assembles with ease - allowing you to quickly get out and go. In addition to its liberating and innovative Break-Away design, the Outback Steel Break-Away sports several practical and adaptable features that offer riders the ability to chase epic ride experiences beyond the end of the road and the end of the day. Rack and fender mounts help to keep things dry and expand the load-carrying capacity for longer bikepacking adventures, while clearance for 700c x 48mm or 650b x 2.0in tires opens up a whole new world of possibilities. The frame accepts flat-mount disc calipers, and the new all-carbon fiber Ritchey Adventure Fork with multi-purpose mounts on the legs gives you more places to stow the supplies you gather at the last café – wherever that may be. - Quickly disassembles to fit into its own sturdy travel case, assembles with ease once you arrive at your destination - Heat-treated, triple-butted Ritchey Logic II tubing - Includes Ritchey WCS Carbon Adventure 12x100mm thru-axle fork - Fork features rack, fender and bottle cage mounts - Forged and machined straight head tube - Full length housing stops for use with cable or hydraulic brakes - Front and rear flat mount disc brake interface - 12x142mm rear thru-axle - Fits up to 700x48c or 650x2.0" tires - WCS headset included - Break-Away travel case, padding, hinge clamps, rear brake cable connector and derailleur cable connectors all included

The Sutra is many things. It's functional. It's stylish. It's incredibly versatile, and it comes ready for the long haul on the bike tour of your dreams. Our Kona Cromoly steel frame is outfitted with a Brooks saddle and microfiber bar tape, integrated shifter/brake levers, proper fenders and a real Tubus Tara Big Apple low-rider front rack. It's a modern take on the classic touring bike. It's a grocery getter that's easy on the eyes. It's the feeling of steel across pavement that reminds you why you love turning the cranks on long rides. Just like its name suggests it's the perfect guide for your every ride. KONA CROMOLY Very few materials offer as much shock absorption, durability and supple-ride characteristics as steel. We've never strayed from cycling's original material and have worked tirelessly to adapt, refine and innovate Kona Cromoly framesets as rider demands continue to evolve. TAPERED HEAD TUBE More girth at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock force, prolonging the bearing life of the headset itself and eliminating brake shudder, while providing confident steering performance. The inherent strength of its triangular design also means a stronger steering position and improved balance, giving the rider more control in rough terrain. A zero-stack, tapered head tube also puts strength where the load is going—into the lower headset cup—maximizing bearing durability where it's needed. TUBELESS COMPATIBLE RIMS Tubeless rims allow for tires with more puncture resistance; the ability to run lower tire pressure, which provides better tire grip on the trail; lower rolling resistance; and weight savings over traditional tube and tire systems. 12x142mm AXLE 12x142mm, 12x148 and 12x157 rear axle standards provide two major advantages to the Kona rider: the 12mm diameter of the rear axle provides the rear hub and frame with a stiff interface, while the 142/148/157mm outer diameter of the hub allows the wheel to be quickly and properly positioned in the frame before the rear axle is inserted.

VERSATILITY Renegade enables you to be a commuter in the morning, leader of the after-work group ride and take off for a 300-mile bikepacking expedition over the weekend. All with a single bicycle. With over 20 fork and frame mounts you can now choose to mount fenders, rear carrier, low-rider front carrier (or two cages for water bottles/storage) and three front triangle water bottles. Add clearance for 700 x 50mm and 650 x 2.00"* on our steel and aluminum models, and it's clear the Renegade series is equipped to accommodate any adventure. *Renegade carbon models are designed to accommodate up to a 700c x 37mm tire without fenders or 35mm with fenders. *Steel and aluminum Renegade models are designed to accommodate up to 700c x 50mm tires without fenders and 35mm with fenders. ADVENTURE FRAME DESIGN Starting with a wide and consistent stack and reach range, we set out to design a frame that could handle on or off road conditions while maintaining a comfortable and consistent ride. As you start to review the geo chart you will notice we have 3 different fork offsets, BB drops and rear center measurements depending on frame size. This is unique. We set out to ensure every Renegade rider will experience the ultimate in adventure bike performance regardless of their frame size. Most of our competitors simply design one fork and strap it to every frame size. While this may work just fine for a bicycle that's designed to be ridden with a single tire size (think a road racing bike), it significantly impacts the handling and ride quality of an adventure bike when swapping out your 28's for 32s, 40s or even 47mm tires. Add size specific tubing, where we vary the diameter of the frame tubing depending on frame size and 2 different sized rear triangles and you have what we feel is the perfect adventure geometry for all sized riders and the best riding adventure bike period. The masses have flocked to the Libre. It's known for its ability to crush big rides, carry tons of gear, perform jaw-dropping skids, and may or may not have been tested by wheelieing with one hand while holding a beer in the other. Who knows. Featuring our Carbon Verso fork with its multitude of carrying capabilities, the Libre is the more budget-friendly version of our badass gravel adventure bike. KONA 6061 ALUMINUM Kona 7005 and 6061 Aluminum alloys are used extensively throughout our fleet of mountain and asphalt bicycles. A tough, durable, light alloy, both Kona 7005 and 6061 deliver fantastic, reliable performance that lasts for thousands of rides. Much of our 7005/6061 tubing is butted and/or formed, meaning the tubing's wall thickness can be increased or decreased, as well as shaped, so we can fine-tune a particular frame's strength and ride characteristics depending on its intended application. INTERNAL HEADSET Bearing cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also reduces stack height, so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit possible. For 2017, you'll see the 12x148 Boost standard in the mix. Boost spacing provides more tire clearance at the chainstay yoke, while the rear wheel is stiffer and more durable relative to a 12x142 thru-axle.
