2012 Norco Threshold cyclocross: full carbon, chain or belt drive

2012 Norco Threshold

Norco’s new full-carbon Threshold cyclocross bikes are based on a sculpted 2.9 lb frame that comes with two sets of Arsenal dropouts (vertical and horizontal) that let you run either belt drive or chain, either single speed or geared, and either external or internal gearing. We chose to carry the Threshold for that versatility. There are cleverly hidden bosses for fenders and a rack, too. Available as a frameset ($1850 including two sets of dropouts) or a complete build.

Arsenal dropout system on Norco Threshold

The Arsenal Dropout System allows you to switch between vertical or horizontal dropouts, letting you choose either single-speed (fixed or freewheel) or geared setups and either a chain or Gates Carbon Drive. Both sets of dropouts are included with each Threshold. The vertical dropouts also feature an integrated derailleur hanger to provide amazingly crisp and accurate shifting in any condition. The horizontal dropouts feature a bottle opener so you can enjoy refreshing beverages. When running belt drive, you do not have to retension the belt after changing a flat!

Based in British Columbia, Norco is Canada’s oldest and largest bike company and the designer of some of the world’s best mountain bikes.  Threshold features:

  • Internal Cable Routing
  • Tapered Headtube
  • Stainless slapguard for the chain
  • BB30
  • High Modulus Carbon Fiber
  • Frame Weight 1320g (2.9lbs)
  • Complete builds from $2449 to $4799 (stock weight 18.9 to 16.75 lbs., respectively)
