This is our menu of various services we offer, their description and price. If you don’t see a service listed, go ahead and give us a call and we’ll give you a quote.  None of the prices below reflect the cost of any related parts, so keep that in mind, too.  At this point we aren’t capable of doing frame machining or suspension work, but we’d be happy to direct you to a shop that does.  Thanks for reading!

Safety Check: $35

Joe Bike offers an economical quick check of the bike to ensure smooth and safe operation. This is for bikes in fairly good shape with not much wear. It includes checking the tightness of all the critical bolts and fasteners, inspection of the shifting and brake systems, a quick wipe down of the frame and rims, lubrication on the chain and moving pivots, and tire inflation. This can be done either by appointment, as a drop off, or while-you-wait. Time: approximately 20 minutes.

Tune Up: $65.00

The Joe Bike Tune Up adjusts both derailleurs (including disassembly of the rear pulleys), both brakes, including pad installation; adjusts both hubs, headset, and bottom bracket; cleans and trues both wheels; cleans and inspects the frame; lubricates the cables, chain, and all moving pivot points; includes a safety check and tire inflation. Parts and associated labor costs are additional. Can be done by appointment or as an unscheduled drop-off. Time: approximately an hour to 75 minutes.

  • Cable replacement upcharge w/ tune up: $5.00 per cable
  • Shifter replacment upcharge, includes cable: $8.00
  • Derailleur replacement upcharge, with or without cable: $5.00

Bicycle Overhaul: $200.00 (winter special: $125)

An overhaul will leave you with a bike that is in top notch condition, with every bearing serviced or replaced if needed, wheels trued, cables replaced as necessary, shifting and braking to the best of the equipment’s ability. Includes labor to upgrade or convert in various ways. Parts are additional, and assume an average of $80-$100 for replacement parts, possibly including ball bearings and cones, brake pads, chains/cassettes/chainrings, bottom brackets, cables, grips/tape, or others. The mechanic performing the work will inspect all parts for wear or damage and make appropriate decisions as to whether the part is safe. No work will be performed or parts replaced that exceed the initial estimate given except by approval of the bike’s owner. Can be done by appointment or as an unscheduled drop off. Time: almost all day.

Drivetrain Clean: $40.00

This is a great service for a bike that is otherwise in good shape but has a lot of buildup on the chain and gears. The crankset, chain, and cassette are removed, scrubbed shiny clean in our solvent tank, rinsed, dried, reinstalled and re-oiled. Does not include any shift or brake adjustments, but new a chain, cassette, crankset or chainrings can be installed for the cost of the part(s) in question with no additional labor fee.
