2016 Kona Paddy Wagon

Sometimes gears are overrated. For proof, check out Kona's Paddy Wagon. It's a fixie born for pavement and ready for both the open road and downtown traditionalists. Its Renyolds 520 chromoly frame is tough, snappy and smooth, while the sturdy Kona fork makes this Paddy Wagon handle more like a Ferrari. The flip-flop rear wheel comes with both a fixed 16-tooth cog and freewheel so you can choose and change your drivetrain whenever you wish. This elegant one-speed also boasts powerful Tektro brakes and high-quality Kona components so you're ready to hit the streets in style.

    Comments:

I ride my 08 Kona Paddywagon everyday, commuting or just riding around Uptown. The bike rides better than any other fixie that I have ridden on. The 42 by 16t ratio is very comfortable for trick riding. But, when you want to get around fast, it's not the best ratio. So I bumped my back gear all the way to 13t. When you are taking super short turns going slow its tricky, because your foot hits the tire, which throws you off. Its just a minor little problem. The bike is at a perfect level for its price. Its a very very smart buy, and for [$] its an even better buy.

      Comments:

A great looking bike - it wasn't even on my shopping list, but when i saw it i knew it was the one for me. I went to Wheel World to check out the specialized langsters (also singlespeeds) but they were kinda flashy and didn't ring true. My only beef is that the bike comes with drop handlebars so by the time its all said and done its an extra $100 to switch to a straight bar. But now i got the bars i want and the it looks as good as it rides. i haven't missed having any additional gears... its simple fun.[...]
