When you call a bike the Cream, it better be special. Meet the most advanced, highly engineered titanium mountain bike on the market. We don’t rush anything at Spot. The Cream took three years of meticulous R&D, countless test rides and prototypes to perfect. All the painstaking attention to detail paid off with something truly unique: a titanium speedster that whips up the trail with the agility and grace that you expect from Ti, yet also shreds down the hill with unparalleled confidence, precision and strength. We sourced a custom blend of the highest quality Ti tubing and then bent, ovalized, heat treated, shaped and massaged every inch to minimize flex here, enhance it there, add firmness and durability where needed, increase suppleness and fluidity elsewhere. See that curve atop the downtube? That swoop not only increases fork clearance but also strengthens the frame by more evenly dispersing stress on the headtube. We added Spot’s proprietary dual-tapered Animal Leg seatstays and a Time-Trial Cutaway seattube to enhance the Cream’s smooth Ti ride quality. You can feel the difference those subtle bends, cuts, and curves make when hammering in the saddle. Yet the bike remains stiff and confident when standing on the pedals. Our CNC-machined titanium headtube maximizes steering confidence, while a Pressfit BB92 bottom bracket increases power transfer and pedaling efficiency. A silken bead blasted finish is the icing on the cake. The Cream’s spec is also sweet. We spent years searching for the most advanced trail fork and found it in Europe. The Dizzy (from French brand Bos) features closed cartridge damping, flex-free stanchions and an incredibly low friction coefficient. Enve M50fifty carbon rims keep the Cream light and surefooted, while through-axles front and rear allow you to dive hard into the corners. Our patented titanium Kobe Slider dropouts make chain or belt tension a cinch. As with all Spot bikes, the Cream offers drivetrain options: run it belted, chained or geared. What’s in a name? Everything. The Cream is a dream machine that takes titanium’s inherent benefits and elevates them through smart design. Cream, after all, always rises to the top.

When Spot began the journey to create their first true road bike, the Denver Zephyr, they knew it had to be special—iconic in design and utterly dependable in performance. They found inspiration in an archetype of mid-century American transportation: the historic Denver Zephyr train. Its polished steel glinting in the sunlight, this marvel of efficiency, power and progress barreled across the Heartlands between Chicago and the Rockies. Spot’s Denver Zephyr may not be diesel powered, but it measures up to its namesake in all other regards: style, speed and on-time reliability. This is a classic brushed stainless steel road bike, made for the long haul, yet thoroughly modern in its features: tapered head tube, hydraulic disc brakes, Di2 electronic shifting. Spot added gentle bends to the bright steel frame’s seatstays and chainstays for subtle compliance—and, yes, a few style points. Knowing full well that Spot customers prize versatility, they added ample tire clearance for running up to 40c in the front and 35c in the rear to charge gravel roads. They included rack and fender mounts for randonneuring and super commuting. Years in development, no detail overlooked, they are proud to launch the Denver Zephyr. Like its namesake, Spot believes it will become an American classic.
The 2017 Acme Open stepthrough features a Shimano dynamo hub, leather saddle, leather grips, and a polished cockpit. It’s no secret that the hunched-over geometry of road bikes alienates many cyclists. Enter the Acme, a city bike that hums along at road speeds while also allowing you to actually enjoy the ride. Think of it as a Mercedes on two wheels. The Acme is lighter and faster than most city bikes, which means you get to work on time with ease. It features the most advanced, reliable—and clean--drivetrain on the market: a sealed 11 speed shifter mated to a smooth and strong belt drive. Let’s face it: chains and derailleurs are a greasy time suck, and time is money for cyclists on the go. And like a high-performance European sedan, the frame’s gently swooping curves convey understated elegance. Acme means “highest,” and this is the acme of modern urban riding: a finely tuned mix of precision engineering, style, innovation and speed. Rediscover the joy of cycling.
We're now offering the Portlandistan kit, which normally costs over $300 including labor, for the list price of the base bike, $2249. (See Features for what's included). Or choose the base bike (including dynamo hub) for $2049. For 2017 Spot rolls out an improved Acme that includes a Shimano dynamo hub, leather saddle, leather grips, and polished alloy cockpit. It features the most advanced, most reliable, most weatherproof, lowest maintenance, and cleanest drivetrain on the market. It has a belt instead of a chain, which means no need to oil it, no gunk, and no pants-eating. (The belt also last much longer than a chain). The Shimano Alfine 11-speed hub is also gunk-free and requires almost no maintenance. There are no derailleurs to maintain. Like a high-performance European sedan, the frame’s gently swooping curves convey understated elegance. It's a lightweight alloy and Spot's unique tubeset, along with Spot's own carbon fork. It's the Acme of modern urban riding: a finely tuned mix of precision engineering, style, innovation and speed. Rediscover the joy of cycling. Like all the models Joe Bike stocks, the Acme features all-weather disc brakes for superior stopping power, especially in the rain, and reduced maintenance versus rim brakes. Also like all the bikes we carry, the Acme features rack and fender mounts. It doesn't include dynamo lights, but you're in the right place for that, as we specialize in dynamo systems.
The Ajax Open re-envisions what a high performance city bike can be. Cruisers and townies are fun but they limit your range due to their weight and clunkiness. The Ajax Open, by contrast, is a nimble eight-speeder that allows you to get out of the neighborhood and beyond the town limits with ease. Kit it out with fenders and a rack and the Ajax Open becomes a year-round do everything bike. Fitness rides? Check. City commutes? Roger. Shopping sprees? Oh yeah. How and where you ride is open to interpretation. Wired compared the Ajax and its stealthy matte black finish to an urban ninja. We agree. Hydraulic disc brakes provide stop-on-a dime braking, and the low-maintenance eight-speed shifting system and super-smooth belt drive slice through the city like a whisper. The Ajax Open delivers across the metrics that matter: performance, engineering (and with many of the same high-end features as our Acme Open), value. Face the city with a smile--and an open mind--on the Ajax Open. And all of Spot's street bikes have hard mounts for racks, fenders and a kickstand.
Now with thru-axles, hydraulic disc brakes, and ample clearance for 40c tires. Bold, fast and belted, the Rallye SS is a middle finger to boring bikes. It’s Spot’s two-wheeled answer to the rally car, a rugged speed machine that excels in all conditions: mud, grass, gravel, pavement. The nimble aluminum frame accelerates off the line. Cornering is tight and precise. Curved seat stays and a Time Trial cutout provide vertical compliance and deliver a confident ride feel. The SS comes race-configured with a CDX belt drive for lightweight durability, but adding gears is no sweat. This versatile bike is derailleur-ready. So banish bland. Take the red pill. Whether you want to win races or simply conquer the day, the Rallye SS does it all with flying colors. Please allow us 5-7 days to build and ship your Rallye.
Speedy Versatility for Gravel, Grass, Mud or Pavement. Now with thru axles. The Rallye cyclocross frameset gives you extraordinary versatility for a race-ready bike: --run singlespeed/belt or geared/chain (comes with derailleur mounts front and rear, plus internal cable guides). --you can run an Alfine 11 with Di2 (chain only, not belt), a system we've been impressed with. Or non-Di2 Alfine with a belt. --stealthy fender mounts (plus the use of zip ties) mean you can set the Rallye up for road or off-road use in any season. Want to add a rack for carrying panniers? See Related Items for the seatpost clamp you'll need. --run cyclocross or road tires up to 40mm wide. It's not only Spot's most versatile frame, it's almost certainly the fastest. Say Spot: We’ve raced it everywhere from Colorado Cross Cup events to the Dirty Kanza. The Rallye Geared slays it all—from fire roads to pavement to grinduros--with style and precision. It’s a quiver of one. Add fenders to create a hi-viz super commuter, or road slicks for a weekend long-rider. Premium touches include internal cable routing and disc brakes mounted inside the rear triangle (for better protection under race conditions). Spot’s patented sliding dropouts enable easy belt drive conversion. Bold colorways seal the deal. You may not win every race. But you’ll look like you did. Gently curving seat stays and a time-trial cutout on the seat tube provide subtle performance-enhancing vertical compliance. Cornering is tight and precise thanks to the Spot-designed carbon fork and tapered steerer. The Rallye is the Joe Bike cyclocross team's official and unofficial bike.
