Shipping and returns policies

Shipping and returns: We ship bikes across North America and to Europe, Australia, and some countries on other continents. As we are a small, independent, neighborhood bike shop that also has an international clientele, we have certain policies that online resellers generally don’t. One is that we never ship a bike we sell without fully assembling and test-riding it to make sure everything is OK. Another is that we pack bikes much more thoroughly and carefully than online resellers do, and we insure (at the customer’s expense) all shipped bikes for their full value. Typically bikes ship in 85% assembled condition, and we recommend you have reassembly completed by a local bike shop. Important note: For custom builds, including any frame that we have powdercoated for a customer or that we otherwise customize, we cannot accept returns.

Customs and import duties: It is the customer’s responsibility to investigate, determine and pay for any customs or import duties.

Other returns policies: For clothing and accessories, please return items within 14 days in new condition for a refund, exchange, or credit. For clearance and other sale items, including bicycles, we will consider returns on a case-by-case basis. For special-order items, payment must be made in advance and returns are not allowed except in cases where we judge that we can resell the item readily. For returns of shipped items, all shipping and insurance costs are the responsibility of the customer. For bicycles that are not custom builds and not on clearance, we accept returns within 14 days of purchase provided that the bike is in new condition. If there is any damage to the bike, we reserve the right to keep part of the money to pay for diminished value.
