Civia Bryant 8-speed or 11-speed

It’s okay to call them foul-weather friends; we’re not offended. Joe Bike has one of the world’s best selections of high-performance city bikes equipped with the trifecta of year-round cycling: Gates Carbon belt drive, internally geared hubs, and disc brakes. These bikes all have a set of common attributes: their drivetrains and braking systems are weatherproof, extremely reliable, clean, and nearly maintenance-free; all accept fenders and both front and rear racks, and all can be equipped with a front dyno hub to power both front and rear lights.
The Civia Bryant is our newest belt-drive bike. Double-butted chromoly steel frame; touring geometry for both fast touring under heavy loads and fast commuting with groceries, laptop, and a change of clothes; drop bars, Alfine 8- or 11-speed or n360, Avid BB5 disc brakes; and practical touches such as a belt guard and custom kickstand plate.
Pricing:
$1650 (MSRP $1850) Alfine 8-speed with Gates Carbon Drive, Versa shifter/levers (50/24 recommended).
$1750 Alfine 8-speed with Gates Carbon Drive, JTek bar-end shifter (50/24 recommended)
$2125 Nuvinci n360 with Gates Carbon Drive (available February 2012; flat handlebars only)
$2249 Alfine 11-speed with Gates Carbon Drive
To any of these, you can add our Portlandistan Package for $500: an Alfine dyno-hub front wheel handspun by Joe Bike, along with Busch & Muller front/rear dyno lights with capacitors, Axiom Rainrunner or Axiom Phoenix fenders, an Axiom Streamliner rear rack, and a Portland Design Works King of Ding brass bell. Options (which will affect pricing): Schmidt dyno hub, Tubus front and rear racks, Portland-made Sykes wood or bamboo fenders, and many other possibilities to help you build your dream bike.
