Torker Cargo-T with Nexus 8-speed or Nuvinci N360
The Torker Cargo-T gets little attention as a family bike, and that’s a shame. With a few changes from Joe Bike, such as adding a Nexus premium 8-speed hub (or Nuvinci n360) with roller brake, the Cargo-T becomes a contender–a stable, short-footprint, high-capacity family/utility bike with a low stepthrough frame, steering inhibitor for front loading, sturdy bipod kickstand, chainguard, and room for both front and rear child seats in addition to the front and rear cargo racks. It’s noticeably lighter than the similar Batavus Personal Delivery Bike (Torker licensed the design from Batavus) but significantly less expensive, and it comes with a front drum brake, a nice edge over the Batavus. This bike works very nicely with child seats such as the Bobike Maxi Plus or Junior in back, Bobike Mini or I-bert in front, and a Swift Industries Pelican grocery bag for the sturdy front porteur rack.
Compact and easy to store, good for both kids and cargo at the same time, and a very sure, stable ride for both taller and shorter people make this a family bike worth checking out.
The Cargo-T is available by special order only and is custom-modified for you by Joe Bike. With the Nuvinci n360 hub, $1199. With the Nexus Redband premium 8-speed hub, $1099. With the stock Sturmey-Archer 5-speed (not recommended), $649. All special orders must be paid in advance.
Shipping within the continental US is typically about $130-150. Slightly higher to Canada. Please call 503 232 1107 or email info@joe-bike.com.
