If you like the Batavus Personal Delivery Bike but want something more affordable, the Torker Cargo-T offers a very similar bike for only $550, made in China rather than Holland. Although it’s not quite as refined as a Batavus, the Cargo T is noticeably lighter and comes with a front drum brake. Joe Bike also offers a unique 8-speed version ($850) using Sturmey Archer’s new internal hub with an extra wide gear ratio and a 70 mm drum brake. This bike works very nicely with child seats such as the Bobike Junior in back and a Swift Industries Pelican grocery bag for the rack in front.
