Los Angeles DOT: “Portland is 20 years ahead of us.”
“They are 30 years ahead of us in the development of their, well, they’re not quite 30, they’re more like 20 years ahead of us in the development of their bikeway,” says LA DOT’s Michelle Mowery, according to Alex Thompson Westside Bikeside blogger. In a recent LA City Council meeting, in which an Angelino asked why LA isn’t more like Portland when it comes to bike infrastructure, a couple of interesting answers came out.
